Note: A number of these terms have been borrowed from neighboring Anabaptist ethnic groups, but this is a list of Russlander Mennonite terms with which we have all become familiar or are often questioned about. For instance, Rumspringa is not a Russian Mennonite term but it has become an important term in that we often use the term to define ourselves to non-Anabaptists as in"that is Amisher, we are different." There are many, many terms not reflected, and each Mennonite or Anabaptist ethnicity of course has its own terms, cultural signifiers and perspectives that are just as important to include and understand. I would be glad to post other compilations if submitted.
